How to Build an Online Product Catalogue with Interactive 360 Tours

A tour is only as useful as the product information behind it. This guide covers structuring product data, importing it by CSV, using variants and keeping it accurate.

Hotspots in a 360° scene are only as helpful as the product information they open. A good catalogue turns a pretty tour into something customers can act on.

Structure your product data

Start with a spreadsheet. For each product, decide what visitors need:

  • Name (required) and SKU or product code.
  • Category and brand.
  • A clear description.
  • Specifications such as size, material or finish.
  • Variants where options exist, such as colours or sizes.
  • Images.
  • Price and availability, only if you can keep them accurate.

Consistent names and categories make a large range easier to search and manage.

Import with CSV

For more than a few products, import instead of typing. The importer validates the whole file first and applies nothing if any row has a problem, so a typo does not leave you with a half-imported catalogue. Rows with a matching SKU update the existing product, so you can maintain the catalogue in a spreadsheet and re-import. Specification columns use a spec: prefix. The full column list is in import and export CSV. Use a dry run first to catch errors.

Variants and specifications

Use variants for options of the same product, such as fabric, colour or size, instead of creating many near-identical products. Put the details customers compare into specifications. A clean structure helps both visitors and the Ask feature, which answers from published catalogue data.

Link products to scenes

Products appear in the tour through hotspots. Place one on each item you want visitors to open; the same product can have several hotspots. Only published products are visible, so keep unfinished ones in draft. The steps are in adding clickable product hotspots.

Keep it accurate

Visitors will rely on what they read. Review the catalogue when ranges change, remove or archive discontinued products, and update details at the source. Leave out price or availability if you cannot maintain them.

Plan limits

Plans limit how many products and tours you can have. The pricing page shows current limits.
