How AI Assistants Can Help Customers Discover Products
Visitors have questions a product card does not answer. This guide explains how an assistant grounded in your catalogue can help, and where it must stay silent.

Visitors exploring a showroom often have a question that no single product card answers: "which of these suits a small room?", "do you have anything in oak?". An assistant can help, provided it is built carefully.
What visitors ask
Typical questions are about comparison, fit and availability of options: materials, sizes, ranges or what is available in a section. They are questions a salesperson would answer in the shop. An assistant offers a first answer when no one is free.
Grounding answers in your catalogue
A general-purpose chatbot answers from whatever it learned elsewhere, which is how invented product details appear. Immersiq's Ask feature is different: it answers from your published catalogue only, and returns the products its answer mentions. Draft and archived products are never used. Another business's products are never used either.
When the answer isn't available
If the catalogue does not hold the answer, the right response is to say so and suggest sending an enquiry. That is how the feature is designed to behave. It is not a substitute for your team on questions of price negotiation, stock, delivery or anything you have not recorded.
Privacy and cost controls
- The feature is available on plans that include it and can be switched off.
- Usage draws on the workspace's AI credits, so cost is bounded and visible to the owner. Visitors do not see credit balances.
- Requests are rate-limited per visitor to prevent abuse.
- See the privacy policy for how visitor data is handled.
Getting good results
The assistant is only as good as your catalogue. Fill in the specifications visitors ask about: materials, dimensions, finishes. Publish products you want it to mention. Review a few sample questions yourself before relying on it.
Limits
Answers can still be imperfect. They should not be relied on for safety or legal decisions, and they do not replace human judgement. Treat the assistant as a first responder that routes serious questions to your team through the enquiry form.
